A Tadhg easy for Ryan in Killarney

Tadhg Ryan pocketed a cool €18,250 after winning the Boylepoker IPO Killarney main event from 19-23 June 2014.

The final day's play began with eight players in the hunt for the title but after an hour of play with no eliminations, the players agreed to flatten the payout structure. Two hours later the tournament was over.

Ryan took 990,000 chips to the final table, with only Ciaran Cooney (880,000) and Paul O’Brien (605,000) with less.

Chip leader was Alan Flannery on 2,040,000, closely followed by Alan Daly (2,110,000), with John Hanaphy (1,770,000), Liam Delaney (1,730,000) and Geoff Healy (1,050,000) completing the line-up.

First out was Healy who had previously lost a large pot to Flannery to leave him short-stacked. His exit saw Daly raise to 200,000 from under the gun and then call when Healy three-bet all-in for 500,000 from the small blind.

Healy turned over AS-9C and Daly the KD-QD. Daly caught a king on the flop and the turn and river brought no help for Healy.

O’Brien was next to go after he raised from under the gun and called when Flannery set him all-In from the small blind. O’Brien held AD-10D and was in terrible shape against the AH-KC of Flannery. O’Brien’s situation grew worse on the KH-8D-7S flop and the AS on the turn left him drawing dead.

Almost immediately after O’Brien’s exit, Delaney followed him after the action folded to Delaney in the small blind and he moved all-in for his last seven big blinds with QJ. Ryan called with AQ and the seven-high board saw Delaney leave in sixth place.

The eliminations continued to come thick and fast with Daly falling in fifth place, followed by Cooney and Hanaphy.

Heads-up play lasted just one hand, which saw an all-in bet from Flannery and a call from Ryan. Flannery flipped over AD-JD and Ryan pocket eights. Ryan flopped a set on the 10C-8D-6C flop laving Flannery drawing dead when the 3H landed on the turn.
