Howe now in Toon, Miah in Thanet

The Grosvenor 25/25 Series continues to draw big fields producing hefty prize pools and the events in Thanet and Newcastle from 5-8 February proved no different.

A field of 152 runners in Thanet created a £30,400 pot of prize money, with Uzzol Miah the major beneficiary after he pocketed a career-best score of £9,000 after beating Maria Evans heads-up.

The numbers were even more impressive in the Newcastle leg where a bumper field of 257 entrants took the prize pool to £51,400, more than double the guarantee.

Walking away with the largest chunk of it was Richard Howe, who worked his way through a final table that included Xenophon Constantinou, David Parkin and Ifrikher Ali to pocket a first prize of £11,450 after a three-way chop.
