Sky’s the limit for Bellamy

A cool £1m guarantee tempted over a thousand players to Nottingham's Dusk Till Dawn casino for the Sky UK Poker Championships from 22 February-1 March.

A tense final day of action saw 31 players return for a shot at glory, but there was only one person who'd walk away with a cheque for the £200,000 top prize and that lucky soul was Fraser Bellamy.

The British grinder grabbed the chip lead three-handed and after taking out David Lloyd in third place, Bellamy managed to dispatch Chris Vernon a few minutes later to take the title.

An all-in and a call saw Bellamy table pocket queens leaving Vernon looking for some help with A-4. Unfortunately, as the board ran out 7-3-J-2-Q Vernon was left with the runners-up cheque... for a paltry £120,000.
