Geilich wins Newcastle GPS

Having already been crowned Grosvenor 25/25 Glasgow champion in January, the prolific Ludovic Geilich was the toast of the Tyne after claiming the latest leg of the Genting Poker Series in Newcastle from 6-12 April.

Glaswegian Geilich topped an impressive 248-runner field at the Genting Casino in Newcastle after safely navigating his way through a final table that featured Andrew Leathem, Craig Granger and Nick Ramsey.

And, after half an hour of heads-up play against Darren Grosvenor, Geilich took the title when his queens held up against Grosvenor's A-K to scoop the £27,500 top prize.
