Pierrick gets his talons into UKIPT title

Belgian Pierrick Tallon topped a field of 446 runners to win the UK and Ireland Poker Tour main event at the Rainbow Casino in Bristol from 5-9 August.

The 23-year-old walked away with a first prize of £53,000 after seeing off a final table that included Ireland's Joseph Lalor, Frenchman Otto Richard and the UK's Chi Zhang.

Tallon agreed a heads-up deal with Chris Brice, who pocketed a £42,000 for his runner-up finish. Two-handed play was cagey but Tallon took control after doubling up after flopping a set and he carried that momentum all the way to victory, eventually sealing the deal when his AH-3S held up against Brice's KH-4H.
