The weekend of 25-27 April 2014 saw the Grosvenor 25/25 Series hit casinos in Reading and Liverpool.

In the Reading leg David Gallagher (pictured above) dealt his way to an £11,370 payout, with his heads-up opponent Ashley Cleaver receiving a cheque for £10,000.

Chen Wenbin's exit in third left Gallagher with 2.9m chips and Cleaver with 2.75m and blinds at 35k/70k. So with £21,370 left to play for the pair agreed to take £10k each, with £1,370, the trophy and the title of 25/25 Series Reading champion going to the winner.

The final hand saw Cleaver call from the button and Gallagher move all-in with A-8. Cleaver called with K-8 but no help on the board saw Gallagher take the title.

In New Brighton, Liverpool, Paul Worsley topped the field of 114 entries to pick up £7,620, beating Athir Ali heads-up.

Mark Livesey's exit in third saw Worsley and Ali go into battle for the title with Worsley out in front in chips. But Ali battled back and called when Worsley shoved all in after his raise of a limp in the small blind. Worsley showed A 7 to Ali's A 10 but a seven on the board saw the title go his way, Ali picking up £4,960 as runner-up.
