McTaggart takes down Edinburgh 25/25

Paul McTaggart claimed the 25/25 Series crown in Edinburgh after agreeing a three-handed deal with Chun Lee and Tommy Noble at the Maybury Casino.

The deal saw McTaggart take the title and £10,400, with Lee the runner-up for £9,160 and Noble third for £8,900.

Joyce Fleming picked up £3,660 for fourth place after shoving all-in for 559k with pocket fours and getting a call from Chun with AQ, Chun hitting an ace-high straight with a jack on the turn.

Fifth place went to Willie Cheung who shoved all-in with A-2 over Chun's opening bet with pocket sevens. The pocket pair held and Cheung exited £2,510 richer.

Ian Swan departed in sixth position after he moved all-in with A-K after McTaggart's opening raise to 80k with A-Q. Swan was in great shape after McTaggart made the call but the queen-high flop left him needing a king to stay alive. None came so Swan dived for £1,880.

McTaggart was also responsible for seeing off Paddy Doonan in seventh place for £1,490. Doonan shoved all-in under the gun for 313k with A-5 and was called by McTaggart with A-Q, with the board offering no help for Doonan.

James McLean finished in eighth place after he shoved all-in on a 6D-5S-4H flop, with Fleming re-shoving and Lee folding. McLean's 8-5 gave him second pair and a straight draw, while Fleming's 7-6 gave her top pair and a straight draw. The bigger pair held and McLean was second to leave the final table for £1,200.

Gavin McGuire was the final table's first casualty. He pocketed £1,020.
