Batey at the double in Nottingham

The Nottingham leg of the 25/25 Series at the G Casino produced an enormous £9,000 overlay and one man not complaining about that is Liam Batey, who took down his second 25/25 title in the space of two months to pocket £7,875 after beating Steve Brown heads-up.

Following on from his great win in Sheffield at the end of October, Batey took a massive 1.78 million to 220k chip lead into the heads-up duel after John O'Reilly's exit in third place and never looked back.

Batey (475,500) was already a big leader when the 10-handed final table was set, with Mark Hester second on 343,500, Tai Hoang third with 322,100 and O'Reilly in fourth place on 246,500.

Robert Douras was next on 170,500, followed by Paul Reast on 163,700, start-of-day chip leader Brown with 138,700 and Abbas Ladak on 98,300.

The table was completed by Renee Xie on 32,500 and Tina Ainsworth on 26,600.

Douras was the first to exit, followed by Ainsworth, Reast, Hoang and Ladak. Hester, who had been second in chips to Brown at the start of the final day at the G Casino, finished in fifth place, with Xei laddering up well to finish in fourth place.
