Carr drives away with IPC crown

Paul Carr emerged €16,450 richer after winning the Irish Poker Championship at the Radisson Hotel in Galway from 3-4 January.

A field of 258 players for the €315, plus €35, main event produced an €81,270 prize pool, with Carr agreeing a four-handed deal with Paul McCaffery, Damien Collins and Jarlath Noone to claim the trophy.

Chip leader with a stack of 2,156,000, Carr claimed the top prize, McCaffery with 1,188,000 finished runner-up spot for €11,820, with Noone's 913,000 placing him third for €10,220 and Collins trading his 903,000 chips for €10,080.
