King Coll the champ in Dundee

Leg four of the Scottish element of the Grosvenor 25/25 Series played out from 8-10 August in Dundee, where Dany Coll was the sole survivor from a field of 170 entries to take the title and £9,000.

The tournament reached the heads-up stage just before midnight when Ian Wright opened to 80k with pocket fours and Coll shoved all-in with pocket tens. Wright called but received no help from the board to leave Coll and Grant Cooper to battle it out for the title.

Before the action started the players agreed to adjust the top two prizes, with £7,620 going to the runner-up and £9,000 to the champion. At this stage Cooper was just in front with 2.2m to Coll's 1.9m chips.

The duel lasted more than two hours and after several chip swings and umpteen all-ins it was Coll who emerged victorious, when all the chips went in pre-flop with Dany holding K-10 and Cooper A-4... the king on the river confirming Coll's victory.

Fourth place went to David Weeks, who called Cooper's 88k opening bet from the big blind. The AH-AD-10D flop saw Weeks move all-in with KD-9D and Cooper make a quick call with A-9. With a 3C on the turn and 3D on the river Weeks made his flush, but it was the one diamond he didn't want to see as Cooper completed his full-house.

Danny Chan finished in fifth place when he was always second best after shoving with 9-4 against Wright's K-9 after he'd slipped to below 13k following a big loss in a pot with Weeks a few hands earlier.

Rami Saleh exited in sixth when down to about 270k after a losing a pot with Cooper, who flopped A-J for two pair against Saleh's pocket queens. And it was Cooper who took the rest of Saleh's chips after he opened with A-10 and Rami shoved with A-7. Grant called and with no help for either player it was Cooper left to battle on.

Seventh place went to Tim Siddall who limped into a pot for 24k, which Wright raised to 75k on the button. Siddall called and the flop brought the 10H-9H-8D. After Siddall checked Wright moved all-in and Tim decided to take him on with 9S-8S. Wright holding A-J needed a queen or seven to move in front and the turn obliged with the 7C completing his straight. Siddall received no help on the river and hit the rail in seventh spot.

Eighth place went to Gregor Deas when his 160k shove from the button was called in the big blind by Wright with A-4, with the board improving neither player.

The first casualty from the final nine was Jake Hughes who shoved all-in for 235k with A-K and found himself up against Chan's pocket jacks, which improved to a set on the turn to send Hughes out in ninth.
