Cowley takes the crown in Coventry 25/25

The second leg in the of the Grosvenor 25/25 Series in the Midlands region has been won by Andrew Cowley, who beat Michael Brown heads-up to take the title and £7,620.

With a field of 116 taking part in the event at the G Casino Coventry from 12-14 September, 36 returned for Day 2 on Sunday.

At the start of the day Brown was a big chip leader on 345,000, with Cowley placed third at the start of the day on 160,000.

Duncan Taylor was the man in second place when Day 2 got underway, but unlike Cowley and Brown he missed out on the final table exiting in 13th place for a minimum cash of £480, along with Martin Hogarty, who had started the day in 10th place.

Steven Buckley picked up £520 for 11th place, with Frank Ryan the man to bubble the final table collecting £570.

Both Richard Horton (28,000) and David Stephenson (27,300), who had stacks in the bottom six at the start of Day 2 did make the final table. Horton following Piers Furnace to the rail in eighth place, while Stephenson finished in third place for £3,220.

Connor Hogarty placed seventh, with Steven Frew sixth, Joseph Cockburn fifth and Nishid Mindocha third.
