The Paddypower-sponsored Halloween Spooktacular Poker Festival at The Red Cow Hotel in Dublin proved to be a happy hunting ground for Billy McCombe.

First McCombe pocketed £2,000 for third place in the €100 + €20 side event on 24 October, then he took down the €500 + €60 main event for €18,310 after a two-handed deal with Rab Lindberg, who collected €17,000 as runner-up.

The main event attracted 146 entries to create a €73,000 prize pool and both McCombe and Lindberg were amongst the chip leaders when 54 players returned to do battle on day two.

Fergal Crawly led the way on 157,400 with Robert Clarke in second place on 134,900 and McCombe in third place on 102,700. Next came Dimiti Pembrooke (100,100), Eddie Thompson (98,700), Philip Harding (98,500) and Lindberg in seventh on 94,100.

The only other member of that septet to reach the final table was Crawly, who exited in eighth place for €1,835, one place better than Ollie Boyce who finished ninth for €1,525 after starting the day on only 40,100.

Gary Clarke hung in to claim seventh place after returning with just 26,800 and Pat Tracy went one better after coming back with only 36,200 for day two.

Nick Newport exited in fifth for €4,580, while Dara O’Kearney pocketed €6,665 for fourth and Jamie Browne won €9,810 for third place.

Robert Keane picked up €3,450 for winning the €100 + €20 side event on the Friday, with Chris Djorjani in second for €2,500 and McCome third for €2,000.

Mark McGuinness bagged €1,380 after taking down the €85 + €15 side event on Saturday, with Declan Walace second for €850 and Arron Haggan third for €500.

On Sunday John Barrett won the €85 + €15 side event; with Padraig Parkinson winning the €230 + €20 PLO, with William Haydock second and Roy Brindley third.
