Rivals caught in Nick’s Bournemouth Webb

Nick Webb outlasted a field of 187 entries to take down the 25/25 Series event at the Grosvenor Casino Bournemouth from 31 October to 2 November.

Webb beat Manuel Bardon heads-up to claim the title and £8,973, with Bardon taking home £6,958 for his efforts.

A total of 73 players returned for Day 2, with Jane Wheeler leading the way on 192,900, followed by Mo Kamali on 187,500 and Michael Quinn in third place on 185,500.

Neither Kamali nor Quinn made the final nine though, with Wheeler reaching the business end of the tournament as the short stack on 250,000.

Webb was out in front on 890,000, with Vasileios Dimoulis second in chips on 844,000 and Amit Kamboh third with 593,000.

Thomas Lee was next on 500,000, with David Smith on 446,000, Bally Pottiwal with 423,000 and Ashraf Salmawy on 370,000.

Bardon completed the line-up on 330,000, with only Wheeler on fewer chips.

Wheeler was the first to exit, with Kamboh finishing in eighth place and Dimoulis in seventh.

Lee exited in sixth, Pottiwell in fifth and Salmawy fourth, with Smith the man to miss out on the heads-up battle.
