Ruparel takes down Leicester 25/25 event

Arjun Ruparel and Karl Harris dealt their way to £6,500 at the 25/25 Series event at the Grosvenor Casino Leicester, with Goliath final-tablist Ruparel taking the trophy and £1,550 on top after winning their heads-up duel.

A total of 41 players returned for Day 2 in Leicester from 147 starters, with Harris the chip leader on 256,300, Timothy Ovens on 192,900 in second place and Dannishi Gandhi on 190,900 in third.

But by the time the eight-handed final table was reached, following Hiten Keshavala's exit in ninth place for £740, Harris had become the short stack on 133,850 with Gandhi the chip leader on 488,500.

Kirk Moyce was second in chips on 403,000 and Eleanor Gudger third on 345,000, Ruparel had 285,000, Ka Wong 262,500, Brian Fenton 215,500 and Michael Brown 193,000.

Moyce was the first to depart followed by Fenton and Gudger, who had both returned for Day 2 with less than 40,000 chips.

Brown finished in fifth place after his short-stack push with sevens failed to hold against K-10 and Ghandi exited in fourth, with Wong the man to miss out on the final showdown between Ruparel and Harris.
